The M Health Fairview Critical Care Domain operates a collaborative, system-wide model that integrates interdisciplinary expertise across all adult ICUs within the M Health Fairview system. It unites academic departments from the University of Minnesota with community partners to provide continuous, high-quality critical care in various ICU settings, including medical, surgical, cardiovascular, and affiliate units like neuroscience and cardiac care.

Care is enhanced through on-site and tele-ICU intensivist coverage, supported by a hub-and-spoke telemedicine model that ensures efficient triage and seamless transitions to higher-level care when needed. This emphasizes standardized practices, driven by dedicated research, education, and data-informed performance improvement initiatives. Regular multidisciplinary forums foster innovation, consistency, and quality improvements, aiming to enhance patient outcomes and reduce care costs across the system.
